Before Summer Slips Away, Walk Around Your Home and Check This
August is one of those months that seems to fly by in Marion. Families are squeezing in one last vacation, students are getting ready to head back to school, and cooler evenings are just around the corner. It is the perfect time to enjoy everything our community has to offer while also taking a few simple steps to protect your home before fall arrives.
Homeowner Playbook
One of the easiest things you can do this month is take a walk around the outside of your home after a summer storm. Look for loose shingles, clogged gutters, cracked caulking around windows, and areas where water may be collecting near your foundation.
Small issues caught in August can often be repaired quickly before fall rains and winter weather make them bigger and more expensive. It is also a great time to trim shrubs and tree branches that are touching your home, helping improve airflow and reducing the chance of damage during late summer storms.
A little preventative maintenance now can save both time and money later.
